Fotoğraf-arkeoloji ilişkisi ve çağdaş fotoğraf sanatında temsili

Abstract

Fotograf, icat edildigi günden itibaren arkeoloji ile iç içe olmus, arkeolojinin bagımsız bir bilim dalı olarak gelismesine yardım etmistir. Fotografın arkeoloji için yararlı olabilecegi, fotografın dünya kamuoyuna duyurulusu sırasında Arago tarafından vurgulanmıs, fotograf icadı ile birlikte arkeolojinin hizmetine girmistir. Arkeoloji, Michel Foucault'un Bilginin Arkeolojisi adlı eseri ile özel bir içerik kazanmıs; bu, postmodern Fotograf Tarihi ve Fotograf Kuramı çalısmalarında önemli bir hareket noktası haline gelmistir. Arkeolojinin fotografik temsili dönemlere ve kisilere göre farklılık göstermektedir. Tezin amacı arkeolojinin dönemlere ve kisilere göre degisen temsillerini açıklamaktır. XIX.yüzyıl fotografın arkeolojiyi kendine konu olarak seçtigi bir zaman dilimi olmasının dısında; arkeolojinin de fotografın bilimsel karakterini kesfettigi bir yüzyıldır. Böylece fotograf Joseph Philibert Girault de Prangey, Felix Bonfils, John Shaw Smith, Francis Bedford gibi gezgin fotografçılar arasında; August Salzmann, Auguste Edouard Mariette, Giorgio Sommer, John Henry Parker gibi arkeolog-fotografçılar arasında kullanılmıstır. Arkeolojinin bir temsil boyutu da Magnum Ajansı baglamında gerçeklesmistir. Ferdinando Scianna, Martin Parr, Bruno Barbey, Henri Cartier Bresson, Ara Güler arkeolojiyi yorumlayan Magnum üyeleri arasındadır. Savas harabeleri de Magnum Ajansı üyelerinin fotografladıgı konular arasındadır. Herbert List David Seymour, Robert Capa, Werner Bischof, Joseph Koudelka, Susan Meiselas bu konuda örnekler vermislerdir. Arkeolojinin bir diger özelligi postmodern sanatçılara ilham vermesidir. Duane Mıchals, Sahin Kaygun, Calum Colvin, Simon Norfolk bu dogrultuda eserler veren fotografçılar arasındadır. Since the day it had been inventioned, photography has been within the archaeology, and contributed to the archaeology's progress to become a scientific discipline. Photography's potential for archaeology was indicated by Arago when he proclaimed its invention to the world. And, photography begun to serve to archaeology just at its beginning. On the other hand; archaeology, as a concept, obtained a special content by Micheal Foucault's "Archaeology of Knowledge". This acquisition became an important starting point for postmodern Photography History and Photography Theories. The photographic representation of archaeology is different as to the periods and individuals. The purpose of thesis is to explain that, In XIX.century, the photography choosed the archaelogy as a subject but at the same tıme archaeology invented the photography's scientific quality. Like Prangey, Felix Bonfils, John Shaw Smith, Francis Bedford travel photographers and archaeologist-photographers like August Salzmann, Auguste Mariette, Giorgio Sommer, John Henry Parker are some examples. Magnum Agency's photographers also represented some other archaeological examples. Ferdinando Scianna, Henri Cartier Bresson, Bruno Barbey, Martın Parr are Magnums photographer who interpreted archaeology. Magnum photographers photographed also the ruins of war or terror. Herbert List, David Seymour, Robert Capa, Werner Bischof, Joseph Koudelka, Susan Meiselas are some examples. Archaeology inspired also postmodern photographers like Duane Mıchals, Calum Colvin, Simon Norfolk, Sahin Kaygun beside photojurnalists.
