Abstract

1932 yılında Kuzey Bulgaristan'a bağlı Gorna Oryahovitsa'nın Kessarevo Köyünde yaşayan İbrahim adlı Türk köylüsü ile Bulgar bir bekçi arasında meydana gelen kavga Bulgar bekçinin ölümüyle sonuçlanmıştır. Bulgaristan'da Arif Necip adlı bir Türk gazetecinin çıkardığı "Karadeniz" Gazetesi, bu olayın köyde yaşayan Türklere yönelik bir kıyıma döndüğünü, İbrahim'in gözaltına alındığı resmi binada günlerce dövüldükten sonra hastanede öldüğünü, çok sayıda kız çocuğuna, kadına tecavüz edildiğini, okul ile caminin yakıldığını ve köylülerin evlerini terk ettiklerini yazmıştır. Bu haber Türkiye'de de basında yer almıştır. Ayrıca elçilikten de Türkiye'ye raporlar gönderilmiştir. Haberin bu şekilde Türkiye'de duyulması üzerine Bulgar Hükümeti konu ile ilgilenildiğini, sorumluların cezalandırılacağını belirtmişse de, gazeteler ve belgelerden anlaşıldığı kadarıyla olayın üstü kapatılmış, suçlular tespit edilip cezalandırılmamış, hatta haberi basına sızdıran Arif Necip Bey gözaltına alınmış ve kendisinden uzun süre haber alınamamıştır. The quarrel that occurred between a Turkish villager named İbrahim living in Kessarevo Village of Gorna Oryahovitsa of the Northern Bulgaria and a Bulgarian warden in 1932 ended up with the death of the warden with his own knife. The newspaper "Karadeniz" that was published by a Turkish journalist who was named Arif Necip and living in Bulgaria wrote that this incident turned into a massacre aimed at the Turks living in the village, İbrahim died at the hospital after being severely beaten in the official building where he was kept under surveillance for days, a great number of girls and women were raped, school and mosque were sabotaged, and villagers had to leave their houses. This news also appeared in the Turkish press. Besides, the embassy sent reports to Turkey. Even though the Bulgarian Government indicated that they cared about the incident and whoever was responsible would be punished upon the spread of the news in Turkey, the incident was dissembled, the criminals were not detected and punished, and even Arif Necip Bey who had leaked the incident to the press was kept under surveillance and remained at large for a long time, which is evident in newspapers and documents.
