21 ARALIK 1963 KANLI NOEL, KUMSAL FACİASI VE BUGÜNE YANSIMALARI

Abstract

16 Ağustos 1960 tarihinde Türkiye, Yunanistan ve İngiltere'nin garantörlüğünde kurulan Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti Rumların Enosis hayalleri yüzünden uzun süre yaşamaz ve Kıbrıs tarihine Kanlı Noel olarak geçen ve 21 Aralık 1963 günü patlak veren saldırılar başlar. Bu saldırıların en acımasızı ise Lefkoşa'nın Kumsal bölgesinde Binbaşı Nihat İlhan'ın evine yapılan saldırıdır ve bugün Barbarlık Müzesi haline getirilen evde bulunan 9 kişiden 2 kadın ve 3 küçük çocuk hayatını kaybetmiş ve Rumların Akritas Planı çerçevesinde başlatılan bu soykırım hareketi tarihin utanç sayfalarından birisi haline dönüşmüştür. Cyprus Republic founded under the auspices of Turkey, the UK, and Greece has never lasted so long just due to Enosis dreams of Greek Cypriot people on the island, and Greek Cypriot atrocity, namely Bloody Christmas towards Turkish Cypriots have broken out in 21st December 1963. The most tragic one of all these atrocities has happened at Major Nihat İlhan's home located at the Kumsal District of Nicosia. 2 women and three kids of totally 9 persons who have tried to hide at home which has got turned to be Museum of Barbarism today in that horror day have lost their lives. As a result of Greek atrocity in the frame of Akritas Plan in Cyprus, this genocide activity has turned to be one of the shame pages of the history.
