Alman Belge ve Fotoğraflarında 1899 Aydın Denizli Depremi

Abstract

Depremler, insanoğlunu tehdit eden en önemli doğal afetlerden biridir. Tarihsel süreçte meydana gelen depremler üzerine yapılan çalışmalar, hem devletlerin hem de depremin meydana geldiği kentin sosyo-ekonomik tarihi açısından önem arz etmektedir. Yakın tarihte meydana gelen önemli depremlerden biri de, 20 Eylül 1899 tarihli Aydın- Denizli depremidir. Bu çalışmada, depremin yol açtığı kayıplar ile devletin ve halkın deprem karşısındaki tutumları ele alınmaktadır. Earthquakes are one of the most important natural disasters that threaten mankind. The studies on the earthquakes that took place throughout the historical course are important both in terms of the socio-economic history of the states and the cities where these earthquakes took place. One of the important earthquakes that took place in the recent history is the Aydın- Denizli earthquake that occurred on 20 September, 1899. This study discusses the losses caused by the earthquake and the reaction of the state and the people against this disaster.
