ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ ÖĞRETMENLİK MESLEĞİNE YÖNELİK TUTUMLARININ BAZI DEĞİŞKENLERE GÖRE İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

ABSTRACT : In this research, the correlation between the attitudes towards the profession of teaching and the academic successes of the final grade students reading at DEU Buca Education Faculty, Turkish Education Department had been examined. Subjects of this research consist of 147 girls and 78 boys reading at final grade of Turkish Education Program in 2004-2005 academic year. The data of this research had been collected by the Attitude Scale towards the Profession of Teaching and by evaluating the students' transcripts for last 7 terms. The obtained findings had been showed that there was a meaningful differentiation in favor of the girls on either Professional attitudes or the averages of the grades. Moreover, it was also seen that there was a meaningful correlation between the attitudes and successes depending on the type of school where they had been graduated, the education levels of the students' parents did not affect either the attitude or the success, there was no meaningful difference among the students' Professional attitudes depending on their place of birth or their living place, however there was a meaningful difference on their successes.

Bu araştırmada Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Eğitimi Bölümü öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları ile akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini 2004–2005 Öğretim Yılı Türkçe öğretmenliği programı son sınıfta öğrenim gören 147 kız 78 erkek öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve öğrencilerin yedi dönemlik transkriptlerini değerlendirme yoluyla toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular hem mesleki tutum hem de not ortalamasında kız öğrenciler lehine anlamlı fark olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin mezun oldukları okul türüne göre tutum ve başarı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu, öğrencilerin anne-babanın eğitim düzeyinin tutum ve başarıyı etkilemediği, öğrencilerin doğdukları / yaşadıkları yere göre mesleki tutumları arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı ancak başarılarında anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür.
