Giris: Hastalara etkin bir eğitim verebilmek ve bakımın kalitesini arttırmak için hastaların öncelikli bilgi gereksinimlerinin uygun ölçümlerle belirlenmesi önemlidir. Amaç: “Hasta Öğrenim Gereksinimleri Ölçeği’nin (HÖGÖ) Türkiye’de geçerlik ve güvenirliğini değerlendirmektir. Yöntem: Arastırma metodolojik olarak gerçeklestirilmistir. Arastırmada ölçek sahibinden, kurumdan ve hastalardan yazılı izin ve etik kurul onayı alınmıstır. Arastırma örneklemini, bir devlet hastanesinin dört genel cerrahi kliniğinde ameliyat olan 250 hasta olusturmustur. Bubela ve arkadasları (1990a) tarafından gelistirilen HÖGÖ Türkçe’ye uyarlanmıstır. Ölçek 50 madde ve yedi alt ölçekten olusmaktadır. Ölçek maddeleri, Likert tipi 1 ile 5 arasında değerlendirilmektedir. Özgün ölçeğin iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı .95, madde toplam puan korelasyonları r=.69-.85 arasındadır. Bulgular: Ölçeğin dil geçerliği çalısmasında, dört uzman tarafından Đngilizce’ye çevirisi ve dört uzman tarafından da Türkçe’ye geri çevirisi yapılmıstır. Đçerik geçerliği için 13 uzmandan görüs alınmıs, yapılan analizde uzman puanlarının uyumlu olduğu görülmüstür (KW= .100, p=.074). Đç ölçüt geçerliğinde, alt ve üst grup puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark anlamlıdır (t=26.610, p=.000). Ölçeğin iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı .93, alt ölçeklerde sırasıyla Đlaçlar .82, Yasam Aktiviteleri .83, Toplum ve Đzlem .57, Duruma Đliskin Duygular .61, Tedavi ve Komplikasyonlar .79, Yasam Kalitesi .80 ve Cilt Bakımı’nda .65 değer almıstır. Madde analizi sonucu madde-toplam puan korelasyon katsayıları .20–.66 arasında ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır (p=.000). Sonuç: Hasta Öğrenim Gereksinimleri Ölçeği’nin Türkiye’de hastaların taburculuktaki öğrenim gereksinimlerini incelemede geçerli ve güvenilir olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılmıstır.
Background: It is important to determine the patient's priority of learning needs by appropriate measurements because of to give an effective education to patient and to enhance the quality of patient’s care. Objectives: Evaluation of the validity and reliability of “The Patient Learning Needs Scale” in Türkiye. Methods: This is a methodological study. Written consent was obtained from the owner of the scale, the institution and patients with also approval of the concerned ethics committee. The study sample was composed of 250 patients who underwent surgeries at four main surgery clinics of a public hospital. The Patient Learning Needs Scale (PLNS) developed by Bubela et al (1990a) was translated into Turkish. The scale is consisted of 50 items and 7 subscales which are assessed by a Likert type 1 and 5 rating scale. The internal consistency coefficient of the original scale is .95 and the total item score correlations (r) range between .69–.85. Results: The scale was translated into English by four specialists and re-translated into Turkish by four specialists for the language validity. For the content validity, opinions of 13 experts were obtained and following an analysis, the scores of the experts were found to be consistent with each other (KW= .100, p=.074) The difference between the mean scores of the subgroup and the superior group was detected to be significant (t=26.610, p=.000). The internal consistency reliability coefficient was .93 for the total scale and for the subscales it was as follows: medications, .82; activities of living, .83; community and follow-up, .57; feelings related to condition, .61; treatment and complications, .79; enhancing quality of life, .80; skin care, .65. As a result of the item analysis, the item-total score correlation coefficients were found to be statistically significant ranging between .20–.66 (p=.000). Conclusion: The Patient Learning Needs Scale –Turkish version (PLNS-T) was concluded to be valid and reliable utilized in Türkiye for the investigation of the patients’ learning needs at discharge.
