İzmir çevresinde yapılan sismotektonik araştırmalar

Abstract

Türkiye toplam yüzölçümünün büyük bir kısmı ilk dört derecedeki deprem bölgelerinde yer almaktadır. Nüfusun çoğunluğu bu bölgelerde yaşamaktadır. Nüfus artış hızına paralel olarak, deprem tehlikesi altında yaşayan insanların sayısı her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bu nedenle yüksek deprem riski taşıyan bölgelerin depremselliğinin belirlenmesi, deprem yönetimi açısından son derece önem arz etmektedir._x000B_Tez kapsamında; İzmir ili ve çevresi sismotektonik bakımdan incelenmiş, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri ve mekansal istatistik yöntemleri kullanılarak depremselliği ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Öncelikle Türkiye'yi etkileyen levha hareketleri, neotektonik evreler ve yapılar özetlenmiştir. Çalışma alanı olarak seçilen bölge ile ilgili mevcut çalışmalar incelenerek, bölgenin tektonik yapısı, aktif fayları, depremselliği, tarihsel ve aletsel dönemde meydana gelen önemli depremler incelenmiştir._x000B_Bir bölgenin depremselliğinin incelenmesinde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri ve mekansal istatistik gibi son yılların gelişen teknolojilerinden faydalanılması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu amaçla, Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Kandilli Rasathanesi'nden elde edilen veriler ışığında, yukarıda bahsedilen teknikler kullanılarak deprem noktalarının yoğunlaştığı ve risk oluşturabilecek bölgelerin belirlenmesine yönelik analiz çalışmaları yapılmıştır Most of the total area of Turkey is situated in the first four seismic zones. Most of the total population live in these areas. In parallel with the population growth rate, the number of the people who live in danger of earthquake increases every day. Therefore, investigating the seismicity of the areas which have high risk is extremely important in terms of seismic management._x000B_Within the concept of the thesis İzmir and its around has been investigated in a seismotectonic way, and using the Geographical Information Systems and the methods of spatial statistics the seismicity of it has been revealed. First of all, the plate movements affecting Turkey, and its neotectonic phases and structures have been summarized. By examining the available studies of the region which have been selected as a field of study, the tectonic structure of the area, its active faults, its seismicity and the important earthquakes in the historical and instrumental period that occured in the region has been investigated._x000B_While examining the seismicity of a region, making use of developing technologies of recent years such as geographical information systems and spatial statistics is of great importance. With this aim, using the data obtained from Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and the above-mentioned techniques, an analysis study such as where earthquake points are intesified and determining the regions which might be risky has been done.
