İşlevsel dilbilgisi çerçevesinde Türkçedeki ilişkisel süreçlerin betimlenmesi

Abstract

Halliday'in İşlevsel Dilbilgisine Giriş adlı kitabında da belirttiği gibi, dildeki anlamın temel bileşenleri işlevsel bileşenlerden oluşmaktadır. Bu bakış açısına göre tüm diller düşünsel ve kişilerarası olmak üzere iki tür anlam etrafında örgütlenmiştir. Bu bileşenlere "üst-işlev" adı verilir. Bu üst-işlevler, tüm dillerde ortak olan iki genel amaç ile temsil edilirler: (i) etrafında olup bitenleri anlamlandırmak; (ii) dili kullanarak diğer insanlar üzerinde etki yaratmak. Amacı etrafında olup biteni anlamlandırmayı sağlamak olan dili ve buna bağlı olarak metni, anlamdan kopararak, yalnızca yapısal bir birim olarak düşünmek mümkün değildir. Dizgeci-İşlevsel Dilbilgisine göre, metin dilbilgisel değil anlamsal bir birimdir. Anlam "söz" yoluyla belirtilir ve sözler olmadan birinin bir metnin anlamına yönelik yorumunu açık hale getirmek mümkün değildir. Dizgeci-İşlevsel Dilbilgisi, dili –düşünsel, kişilerarası ve metinsel olmak üzere- üç farklı boyutta aynı anda çözümlemeyi olanaklı kılmaktadır. Dizgeci-İşlevsel Dilbilgisi çerçevesinde Türkçede ilişkisel süreçleri betimlemeyi planladığımız bu çalışmanın temel araştırma soruları şunlardır: 1) İlişkisel süreçler Türkçede hangi biçimlerde ortaya çıkmaktadır? 2) Türkçede "ad tümcesi" olarak nitelendirilen tümce türünün ilişkisel süreçteki yeri nedir? 3) Halliday'in ilişkisel süreçler çerçevesinde betimlediği süreçler ve eylemler Türkçedeki durumla ne oranda örtüşmektedir? As it is stated by Halliday in "An Introduction to Functional Grammar", the fundemantal components of meaning in language are functional components. According to this perspective, all languages are organized around two main kinds of meaning; the ideational or reflective, and the interpersonal or active. These components are called "metafunctions". Metafunctions are represented by two general purposes of all uses of languages: to understand the environment; and to act on the others in it. The third component is the textual metafunction, which is related with the other two. Because the first general purpose is to understand the environment, it is not possible to think of a text only in terms of its structure, without considering the meaning. According to the Systemic-Functional Grammar, the text is a semantic, not a grammatical one. The meanings are realized through wordings and without a theory of wording, there is no way of making explicit one's interpretation of the meaning of a text. Systemic-Functional Grammar Theory makes it possible to analyse the text with its three dimensions –the ideational, interpersonal and textual- at the same time. Within the framework of Systemic Functional Grammar, this study aims to describe the relational processes in Turkish with these questions: 1) How do the relational processes occur in Turkish? 2) What is the relation between the nominal sentences –as a syntactic structure- and relational processes –as a functional process- in Turkish? 3) In what other ways do the relational processes occur except for the nominal sentences? To make it possible to find answers to the primary investigation questions, "functional analysis, transitivity analysis and the "token and value" are used.
