İZMİR KÖRFEZİ DENİZ ULAŞTIRMA EMNİYETİ VE YENİKALE GEÇİDİ KARAYA OTURMA KAZALARININ ANALİZİ

Abstract

İzmir Limanı, Türkiye'nin dış ticaretinde en büyük payı olan limanların başında gelmektedir. Bunun yanında İzmir Limanı, gemilerin yaklaşım ve limandan ayrılma manevralarında kullanmış oldukları suyolu itibarıyla, birçok seyir tehlikesinin tehdidi altındadır. Özellikle Yenikale mevkisinde karaya oturma kazaları çok sık karşılaşılan kazalardandır. Yıllar içerisinde gemilerde seyir emniyetini sağlayan elektronik seyir cihazlarında meydana gelen teknolojik gelişmelere rağmen, kaza istatistiklerinde bir azalma meydana gelmemiştir. Bu çalışmada amaç, 1990 yılından günümüze kadar Yenikale mevkisinde meydana gelen kazaların analizleri ve bu kazaların önlenmesine yönelik öneriler yapılacaktır. Port of Izmir is one of the leading Turkish ports making the highest contribution to Turkish foreign trade. Notwithstanding such a significant role it shoulders, this port suffers various threats of dangerous navigation, particularly with the maneuvers for approaching to and/or leaving from the port, encountered at the seaways involved. The narrowest channel of the Gulf, Yenikale, is the most risky point where grounding accidents are often suffered. Despite the recent technological improvements enjoyed in the electronic navigation aids (equipments) enabling to secure safe navigation, the current statistical data indicate no reduction in the number of the grounding accidents encountered at this critical spot. The aim of this study is to scrutinize the accidents suffered at the Yenikale Channel since 1990 and based on this thorough analysis, to develop certain fruitful proposals likely to prevent such accidents.
