Abstract:
Bu araştırmanın amacı fen lisesi öğrencilerinin matematik dersine yönelik tutumlarını ile akademik benlik tasarımlarını a) cinsiyet, b) sınıf düzeyi, c) başarı durumu ve d) öğrenim görmeyi planladığı fakülte bazında incelemektir. Bu araştırma Ankara Fen Lisesi öğrencileri üzerinde yürütülmüş ve toplam 345öğrenciye ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplamak amacıyla 24 maddelik bir matematik dersine yönelik tutum ölçeği ve sekiz maddelik bir akademik benlik tasarımı ölçeği ile kişisel bilgiler formu kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan matematik dersine yönelik tutum ölçeğinin alfa güvenirliği 0.98, akademik benlik tasarımı ölçeğinin alfa güvenirliği ise 0.81 olarak bulunmuştur. Verilerin analizinde ikili grupların karşılaştırılmasında t testi, ikiden fazla karşılaştırmalarda tek yönlü varyans analizi ve Scheffe testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, fen lisesi öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik tutumları ile akademik benlik tasarımları bakımından erkek öğrenciler lehine fark bulunmuştur. Yine, öğrencinin sınıf düzeyi ile başarı düzeyi bakımından anlamlı bir fark elde edilirken öğrenim görmeyi planladığı fakülte bazında anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmemiştir.
This study aimed at analyzing the attitudes towards mathematics course and the academic self concept of the students of a science high school on the basis of the variables of a) gender, b) grade, c) success and d) the faculty they plan to study at. The study was conducted with the participation of 345 students from Ankara Science High School. A 24-items attitude scale for mathematics course, an 8-item academic self concept scale and personal information form were used for data collection purpose. Alpha reliability coefficient of the attitude scale for mathematics course was calculated as 0 .98 and of the academic self concept scale as 0.81. In data analysis, t-test was used for pairwise group comparisons and one-way ANOVA analysis and Scheffe test for the comparisons between more than two groups. The results of the study indicated that there was in difference in favor of male students in Science High School in term of attitudes towards mathematics course and academic self-concepts. There was a significant difference between grade level and achievement level. No difference was in term of the faculty the students plan to attend at university
