Klazomenai-Karantina Adası tiyatro kazılarında ele geçen siyah firnisli seramikler

Abstract

2011 yılında Klazomenai-Karantina Adası'nın kuzey yamacında, 18.yy. gezginlerinden R. Chandler'in ve daha sonra G. Bean'in anlatımlarında yer alan tiyatroya ait mimari elemanların ortaya çıkarılması amacı ile kazı çalışması yapılmıştır. Kazılar, yamacın dolgular ve destek duvarları ile tesviye edildiğini göstermiştir. Tesviye dolgularında yoğun olarak seramik buluntu ele geçmiştir. Bu çalışmanın konusunu, dolgularda ele geçen siyah firnisli seramikler oluşturmaktadır. Çoğunluğu yemek ve içki kaplarından oluşan seramiklerin değerlendirilmesinde öncelikle her bir formun kronolojik gelişiminden söz edilmiş ve Klazomenai örneklerinin bu gelişim çizgisi içindeki yeri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Seramikler M.Ö. 5.yy. ile M.Ö. 2.yy. arasında geniş bir zaman dilimine ait olsa da büyük kısmı M.Ö. 3 ve 2.yy.'a tarihlenmektedir. In 2011 an excavation was carried out on the Karantina Island in Clazomenae. The aim of the excavation was to uncover the remains of the ancient theater situating on the north hill of the island, according to R. Chandler and G. Bean. The excavations revealed substructures and fills for the terracing of the hill. The fills contained a rich amount of finds. The black glazed pottery from these fills constitutes the subject of this thesis. The black glazed pottery mainly consists of vessels for food service and drinking cups. Although the date of the pottery ranges from 5th to 2nd centuries B.C., most of it belongs to the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C.
