Abstract:
Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'de 1939-1954 döneminin eğitim hareketleri açısından özellikle öğretmen eğitimi bağlamında önemli ve özgün bir uygulama olan köy enstitülerinin öğretmen eğitimindeki farklı yaklaşımları nedeniyle, Türk toplumunda oluşturdukları ciddi aydınlanma ve kalkınma hareketini değerlendirmek, eğitimin ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel değişikliklerle olan etkileri ve bunlar arasındaki ilişkiler araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada Köy Enstitüleri toplumsal bir olgu ve değişim hareketi olarak ele alınmış, bu çerçevede ekonomik, siyasal, kültürel ve toplumsal değişme ve gelişmemizdeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırma; Köy Enstitüleri'nin, öğretmen yetiştirme amacının yanı sıra Türk toplumunun sosyal ve kültürel yönlerden kalkındırılıp ne tür bir toplumsal değişime neden olduğunu saptamayı amaçlayan; alan yazınlardan toplanan bilgilere, belgelere ve bilimsel kaynaklara dayalı kuramsal betimleme türünde yapılan nitel bir çalışmadır. Doküman incelemesinden elde edilen bilgiler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Köy enstitüleri; köylüyü bilgilendirmek ve köylüye Cumhuriyet aydınlanmasını gerçekleştirecek eğitimcileri yetiştirmek amacıyla, 17 Nisan 1940'ta 3803 sayılı Köy Enstitüleri Kanunu ile oluşturulmuş kurumlardır. Üretime dönük, katılımcı, demokratik, öğrenci odaklı, dayanışmayı yücelten ve sanatla zenginleştirilmiş bir eğitim anlayışını benimsenmektedir.24 Ocak 1954 yılında ilköğretmen okullarıyla birleştirilerek kapatılmışlardır. In this study, The Village Institutes effects on educational changes in economic, social, and cultural areas, as well as their relationship with these was searched. Because of the role The Village Institutes played in enlightment it spurred among Turkish people, and the value, they placed on different approaches to training teachers, it was an important and original application. For this purpose of research, The Village Institutes were seen as a social phenomenon and movement of change. The aim of the study was to determine what effects The Village Institutes had on cultural and social development apart from training teachers in Turkish Society. A qualitative research, letters, documents, and other scientific works were cited. In addition, all data was examined via descriptive analysis. The Village Institutes were established on April 17, 1940 under The 3803 Village Institutes Act with the hope that educators would teach villagers and educate them about the Republican ideological enlightment. An educational understanding that was productive, democratic, student – centered, enriched by art and appreciated cooperation was adopted. On 24th January 1954, The Village Institutes merged with traditional first teacher - training schools and were no longer operated
