dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT The main objective in this study is to carry out research on the relation between their preferences about the Main Art Workshop course and their attitudes they have developed towards the Basic Design Course and the opinions (perception) and expectations concerning communication-interaction in this course, the objectives and content of the course, psychological consultancy and guidance services, social and cultural activities, the classroom atmosphere, instruction methods, Basic Design Workshop and instruction materials of the students of The Art Education Department. . The research covers a total of 475 freshmen in the Basic Design course instructed at 6 universities (Dokuz Eylül University, Marmara University, Gazi University, Çukurova University, Atatürk University and 19 Mayıs University). In the research, data have been collected by a psychological test carried out under standard conditions "“ Students' Attitude Scale on Basic Design Course and Students' Perception and Expectation Level Scale Concerning Basic Design Course so as to be used in the field of education. Moreover, information concerning independent variables has been obtained through a questionnaire developed under the name "˜Student's Personal Information Form'. According to the findings obtained during the research, it is discovered that the majority of the students choose the Main Art Workshop of Painting as the 1st preference and there exist differences among their arrangements (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th preferences) of the Main Art Workshop Preferences according to the institutions they are being instructed inæ also, they select their choice with respect to "˜interest', which is one of the determining factors in the preferences of the Main Art Workshop and the Department/Main Art Discipline from which the Instructors of the majority of the students carrying out the Basic Design Course were graduated is the "˜Main Art Discipline of Painting'. A significant relation has been detected between the averages of the grades of attitude towards the Basic Design course and the preference of the Main Art workshop (p 0.05). In the research, it has been discovered that there is a significant difference among the averages of Perception levels of students concerning the Basic Design course according to the Institution where they are instructed and the Department or Main Art Discipline from which the instructor carrying out the Basic Design course was graduated (p Keywords: Basic Design Education, Preference of Main Art Workshop, Social Interaction, Attitude, Perception and Expectations. dc.description.abstract Bu çalışmada esas olarak amaçæ Resim-İş Eğitimi A.B.D "˜da, öğrencilerin Anasanat Atölye dersi tercihleri ile onların Temel Tasarım Dersine Yönelik geliştirmiş oldukları tutumları ve bu dersteki iletişim-etkileşime, dersin amaçlarına, içeriğine, psikolojik danışmanlık ve rehberlik hizmetlerine, sosyal kültürel etkinliklere, sınıf ortamına, öğretim yöntemlerine, Temel Tasarım Atölyesi ve öğretim materyallerine ilişkin görüşleri (algı) ve beklentileri arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Araştırma, 6 üniversitede ( Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi, Marmara Üniversitesi, Gazi Üniversitesi, Çukurova Üniversitesi, Atatürk Üniversitesi, 19 Mayıs Üniversitesi) öğrenim gören toplam 475 adet Temel Tasarım dersi 1. sınıf öğrencisini kapsamaktadır. Araştırmada, eğitim alanında kullanmak üzere standart koşullarda yapılan, psikolojik test - Temel Tasarım Dersine Yönelik Öğrenci Tutum Ölçeği ve Temel Tasarım Dersine İlişkin Öğrenci Algı ve Beklenti Düzeyi Ölçeği ile veriler toplanmıştır. Ayrıca bağımsız değişkenlerle ilgili bilgiler Öğrenci Kişisel Bilgi Formu adıyla geliştirilen bir anket ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun Resim Anasanat Atölyesini 1. tercih olarak seçtikleri ve öğrenim gördükleri kurumlara göre Anasanat Atölye Tercih sıralamaları ( 1., 2., 3., 4.tercih) arasında farklılıklar olduğu ,Anasanat Atölye Tercihlerinde belirleyici faktörlerden "˜ilgi' ye göre seçim yaptıkları ve de öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun Temel Tasarım Dersini Yürüten Öğretim Elemanının Mezun Olduğu Anabilim/Anasanat Dalı'nın "˜Resim Anasanat Dalı' olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Temel Tasarım dersine yönelik tutum puanı ortalamaları ile Anasanat atölye tercihi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır( p 0.05). Araştırmada, öğrencilerin Temel Tasarım dersine ilişkin Algı düzeyi ortalamaları arasında öğrenim gördükleri Kurum'a ve Temel Tasarım dersini yürüten öğretim elemanının mezun olduğu Anabilim veya Anasanat Dalı'na göre anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu bulgulanmıştır ( p Öğrenci Algı Düzey ve Beklenti Düzey Puanları arttıkça, Tutum puanları da artmaktadır.
