Altı Sigma'da proje seçim yöntemleri ve bir uygulama

Abstract

Altı Sigma metodolojisi, sezgilerin yerine ölçülebilen verileri kullanılarak karar veren bir yönetimi ifade eder. Altı Sigma'da esas olan süreçlerin iyileştirilmesi ve hataların sıfıra indirilmesidir. Bunu sağlamak için Altı Sigma projelerinde zaman ve maliyetler başta olmak üzere kaynakların verimli kullanılabilmesi gerekmektedir. Doğru seçilmiş bir Altı Sigma projesi sayesinde, kaynakların israfı azalır ve Altı Sigma metodolojisinin tüm şirkete yayılarak benimsenmesi sağlanır. Çalışmanın teorik kısmı iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Altı Sigmanın temel kavramları ve istatistiksel yöntemler, ikinci bölümünde de proje seçim tekniklerinden bazıları tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmanın uygulama kısmında, tanımlanan proje seçim teknikleri özel bir hastanede uygulanmıştır. İlk olarak hastanenin kritik kalite karakteristikleri tanımlanmıştır. Hastanenin mevcut durumunu değerlendirebilmek için 400 hastadan oluşan bir grupla yüz yüze anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Anket 5'li likert ölçeğine göre hazırlanmıştır. Memnuniyetsiz hasta sayıları, hata sayısı olarak kabul edilerek DPMO bulunmuş ve ana sürecin kısa dönem sigma seviyesi hesaplanmıştır. Kısa dönem sigma seviyesinin 3'ün altında çıkması, hastanede işlerin yolunda gitmediğini göstermiştir. Kritik alt süreçler belirlenmiş ve bu alt süreçlerde uygulanması düşünülen projeler tanımlanmıştır. Proje seçim yöntemleri kullanılarak, hastanenin karlılığını optimum düzeyde arttıracak olan proje seçilmiş ve uygulamaya konulmuştur. Bu sayede kaynaklar israf edilmemiş ve müşteri memnuniyetinin artmasıyla işletme amacına ulaşmıştır. Six Sigma methodology states a management using measurable data instead of instincts. The basis in Six Sigma is to improve the processes and reduce the errors to zero. To achieve this, it is necessary to use the sources effectively in Six Sigma projects, particularly time and costs. The waste of the sources decreases and the Six Sigma methodology is accepted by spreading over all the companies thanks to a rightly chosen Six Sigma project. The theoretic part of the study consists of two elements. In the first part, the Six Sigma?s basic concepts and statistical techniques are defined and in the second part, some project choosing techniques are defined. In the implementation part of the study, defined project choosing techniques are implemented in a hospital. Firstly, the hospital?s critical quality characteristics are defined. To evaluate the present conditions of the hospital, a face to face questionnaire study was held with a group of 400 people. The questionnaire was prepared according to the 5 point likert scale. DPMO was founded by considering the unsatisfied patients number as the error number and main process short termed sigma level was calculated. Short termed sigma level?s appearing under 3 denoted that things were not going alright. Critical sub-processes were defined and the projects thought to be implemented in these sub-processes were defined. The project which was going to make the company raise its optimum profit were defined by using project choosing techniques and the projects thought to be implemented in these sub-processes were defined. By this way, sources were not waste and the company managed to achieve its goals with the rise of the customer satisfaction.
