İnşaat sektöründeki projelerde kalite performansını belirleyen başarı faktörleri: İzmir ili örneği

Abstract

Günümüzde firmalar, küreselleşme sebebiyle şiddetli bir rekabet içerisindedirler. Bütün firmalar varlıklarını sürdürebilmek için çevrelerindeki değişime ayak uydurmak ve rekabet avantajı elde etmek zorundadırlar. Bu zorunluluk her sektörde olduğu gibi Türkiye ekonomisinin önemli sektörlerinden biri olan inşaat sektörü içinde geçerlidir. İnşaat sektöründeki firmaların, rekabet avantajı elde edebilmesinde ayırt edici rol oynayabilecek kavram kalite performanslarıdır. İnşaat firmalarının projelerinde müşteri beklentileri ve gereksinimlerinin karşılanmasıyla elde edilen kalite performansı, Türk inşaat firmaları tarafından süre ve maliyet hedeflerine oranla göz ardı edilebilmektedir. Fakat düşük kalite performansının yol açtığı düzeltme ve tekrar yapım maliyet ve süre hedeflerini de olumsuz etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada inşaat sektörü projelerinde kalite performansını belirleyen başarı ve başarısızlık faktörlerinin tanımlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu faktörlerin dikkate alınarak kalite performansının en üst düzeye getirilmesi, bu sayede Türk inşaat sektörü firmalarının hem ulusal hem de küresel boyutta rekabet avantajı elde edecekleri düşünülmektedir. Nowadays firms are in a very competitive environment because of globalisation. All firms have to keep up with the change in their environment and acquire competitive advantage if they want to stay in existence. This necessity isvalid for construction sector, which is one of the most important sectors of Turkish economy, as much as any other sectors. Quality performance is the distinguishing concept which gives the opportunity to the construction companies to achieve competitive advantage. It is possible that Turkish construction companies might ignore the quality performance in their projects which is obtained by satisfying the customer expectations and requirements when timing and cost goals are achieved. Nevertheless the cost created by corrections and multiple-handling which are caused by low quality performance affect cost and timing goals. The goal of this study is to identify the success and failure factors which determine quality performance in construction sector. By taking these factors into consideration i it is aimed to maximize the quality performance and thus acquire competitive advantage for the Turkish construction companies nationally and globally.
