EDİRNE SARAYI'NDA VE TOPKAPI SARAYI'NDA MİNYATÜRLERE YANSIYAN ELÇİ KABUL SAHNELERİNDEKİ OSMANLI DEVLETİ'NİN DİPLOMATİK GÜCÜ
YILDIRIM, İbrahim
Her devletin uygulamaya koyduğu kendine has törenleri vardır. Every state performs its own special ceremonies. Ceremonies are specialimplementations which that state carries from the past and identifies itself with. From past topresent, different Turkish states have developed some implementations within this contextabout the state and the ceremonial extents of interstate relations. In the time of the OttomanEmpire some strict and very well-disciplined rules which are in direct proportion to thepower of the state were developed and these rules were meticulously applied. In the Ottoman Empire very strict hierarchal implementations were made in regar tothe herald's receptions in terms of interstate diplomatic protocol rules which constitute oursubject. During the historical period of the Ottoman Empire which extends from the beylic tothe state and then to the empire, these protocol rules were complied with accurately in thediplomatic relations with foreign states. From the first herald's reception at the the Edirne Palace in the time of Murad II to thereceptions at the Topkapı Palace after the capital's removal to Istanbul, an indication of thegrandness of the state was always viewed as a goal and the herald's receptions were presentedin that context. The colours which are used in representations of the reception scenes in the miniaturesof the related periods, the scene designs, the emphasis which is put forward in thecompositions (the emperor's and throne's –which is a symbol of royalty- being centralized)are just all reflections of the power of the state in theimplementation of protocols. In theseminiatures we can observe the political standing of the Ottoman Empire on the line thatextends from the state to the empire. We can see many examples of them in the travel bookswritten by different travelers of that period and also visually in engravings and paintings.

When we examine during LH IIIC Anatolia, at settlements along the coast of western Anatolia, such as Panaztepe, Liman Tepe, Bademgediği Tepe, Kadıkalesi, Miletos, Çine-Tepecik, Mycenaean pottery is observed to have increased compared to previous periods. However, the tradition of Mycenaean burial is moved to the shores of the western Anatolia. It can be explain relative increase in activities of Mycenaean, immigrants from the Mainland Greece and the islands. As well as activities of Mycenaean traders who benefited from the political space in Western Anatolia. Because of dissolution process of the Hittite country. It is understood that Mycenaeans moved their cultural elements to shores of Western Anatolia and partially the inner regions so They interact with the occurrence of the local Anatolian peoples and cultural exchange with them. In Cilicia at many settlements, especially in Tarsus, are found traces of destruction, as well as LH IIIC pottery. Also in Troy after the collapse of VIIa layer, in VIIb1 effects of Balkan begin to appear in Anatolia.

İzmir, Urla'nın güneybatısında bulunan eski Söğüt köyü sınırları içindeki kutsal alançevresinde ele geçen buluntular bu makalenin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Söğüt kutsal alanı2007 yılında tespit edilmiş ve mimari yapısı incelenerek yayınlanmıştır. Daha sonraki yüzeyaraştırmalarda rastlanılan seramik buluntulara dayanarak, kutsal alanın kullanım evrelerianlaşılmıştır. Buna göre, alanın Prehistorik dönemlerden beri kullanım gördüğü ve Arkaikdönemden itibaren kutsal mekan işlevi kazandığı görülmektedir. Hatta antik kaynaklarda sözüedilen Büyük İskender oyunlarının burada yapılmış olabileceği düşünülmektedir. The minor rock shelter called as the Sanctuary of Söğüt is situated in the southeast ofUrla, Izmir. According to the field survey at the Sanctuary of Söğüt, the settlement was in usealready in Prehistoric periods, but it has began as a sanctuary in the Archaic periods. In ourpaper, based on all of these archaeological evidences, we would like to assume that thesanctuary assigned to Alexander the Great mentioned by classical authors.
